Technical Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer or substantial experience in a similar role

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of the processes used in Water/Wastewater Networks is desirable.
  • Previous experience in the Utility industry (water/wastewater experience is an advantage but not essential).
  • Experience in a people management role.
  • Understanding of the development of design, specification, construction and operation of above and below ground projects.
  • Understanding of performance and quality management.
  • Strategic and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • IT literate and familiar with document management systems

Role Purpose

The Construction Assurance Manager (CAM) provides construction assurance, working with the Quality Manager and Client assurance teams to demonstrate that company and client construction quality procedures are being followed and that work is being delivered to a high standard. Where necessary the CAM works to correct non- compliances, provide training and improvements to process guidance and procedures.

Role Summary

  • Across a portfolio of many projects, the CAM manages Technical quality assurance for construction, commissioning, and defects rectification activities for Water/Wastewater Networks as appropriate
  • Liaison with Operations and sub-contractors to support approval of submissions and passing through key milestones.
  • Supporting contractor and Operations liaison during the design, delivery and commissioning process, ensuring zero customer down time, monitoring SLA’s and KPIs
  • Ensuring buildability, efficient and effective delivery whilst safeguarding our technical compliance to client and industry requirements
  • Monitoring compliance with client asset standards, safety, environmental and quality standards and with wider regulations.
  • Supporting the assessment and appointment of subcontractors and review of their procedures, method statements and technical delivery standpoint.
  • Promoting innovation, best practice, and compliance with quality standards, communicating information and providing support and training to other members of the team on technical quality matters as required.
  • Support of design reviews from a technical delivery standpoint
  • Assessment and reporting of project quality issues
  • Monitoring and review of component (FAT / SAT) and commissioning testing.
  • Managing, monitoring and reviewing the takeover and defects throughout all projects.
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post
